port-call alta exploration arrived
Bodega y Quadra (Spanish Nootka commissioner) arrived Monterey from the north 9 Oct 1792 aboard the frigate Activa (his broad pennant), wintered through the Vancouver season, and sailed with the combined fleet 14/15 Jan 1793. ACTIVA vs SATURNINA RESOLVED: his flagship = the Activa; the Saturnina was a separate survey schooner (the cannon Bodega offered San Francisco were to come on it).
